Diagnosing depression in men, especially middle-aged and older men, can be difficult and elusive. Not only do many shy away from revealing or discussing their emotions, they may actually lack the language to do so.

It's a sad and frustrating state of affairs, because a wide range of new drug treatments have made mid-life depression eminently manageable.
