Is this All There Is for the Rest of My Life?

One of the biggest challenges for anyone who has started to ask, “Is this all there is for the rest of my life?” is to know where to go for useful, honest help to begin to answer this big question.

Maybe you’ve hit what is sometimes called a midlife crisis.

Maybe you’re stuck and unhappy in your present job, feeling trapped by a pay check, family responsibilities or feel you’re too old to transform.

Maybe you want to find your true self after having taken care of children or your aging and sick parents for a long time…

Who We Are

We are Peter Axtell and Nicola Vetter, and we help people transform their lives by providing the right resources and tools that work.

We are a couple in a committed relationship and the new owners of What’s Next. We hit the “is there all there is” crisis in our own lives and know how painful and confusing it can be.

It concerns us deeply that so many people are confused, unhappy and don’t know where to turn for answers to midlife’s biggest questions.

But “we” are much more… “We” are also “you”, who has something valuable to offer for people in midlife and we want to hear from you.

To that end, we are creating an in-depth and useful resource website that will help anyone who is willing to do the work, transform. It’s the all new Whatsnext.com you are visiting right now.

Original Founder

Jeremy Koch — Original Founder & Chairman

Jeremy Koch is the original founder and creator of WhatsNext.com. He first developed the idea behind the website in 2004, when after 23 years at Time Inc. he turned 50 and began to ponder whether it was time for a career change. As he revealed his pondering to friends and colleagues, he was struck by how many had yearnings to leap into new challenges or adventures professionally. In the time since, in addition to founding What’s Next, he served nearly two years as executive vice president of consumer marketing at the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA).

At Time Inc., Koch served in senior positions primarily related to consumer marketing and brand development. From 1998 to 2003 he was president of Time Consumer Marketing, where he was responsible for subscription and retail marketing, consumer research, media buying, creative development and database marketing. Prior to heading up the corporate marketing function, Koch was vice president of People magazine, where he oversaw the development of a succession of People offshoots, including InStyleTeen People and People en Espanol, as well as brand extensions into television, books and the Internet. Earlier in his career he held marketing positions at Time and Fortune magazines.

Koch is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and Bennington College. He was on the board of Bookspan, a book-club joint venture between Time Inc. and Bertelsmann AG, served as a member of the Executive Board of the Direct Marketing Association, and for many years chaired the Consumer Marketing Committee of the MPA.

In 2016, Jeremy retired and sold WhatsNext.com to Midlife Crossroads, LLC.

We at Midlife Crossroads are dedicated to carrying Jeremy’s vision into the future and to helping people stuck in midlife answer the difficult question of “What’s Next?”.
