Welcome to the Life Values Self-Assessment Test!
The purpose of this exercise is to help you gain insight into your personal priorities by establishing which core values are most in need of your attention at this particular point in your life. Before you begin the exercise, be sure to read the instructions below.

The Life Values Self-Assessment Test (LVAT) works by asking you to compare each of 11 life values to each other value and to indicate which of the two is more important to work on in order for you to achieve a satisfying and well balanced life. As you take the test, we suggest that you frame the comparison not in terms of which value is more important to you in the long term, but in terms of which value needs your attention right now. You can preview a list of the 11 values by clicking the “Details” button above.
The LVAT uses your answers to rank order the relative importance of each value based on the accumulation of all your responses. The entire exercise involves 55 paired comparisons and typically takes about 15 minutes to complete. If you don’t understand what a particular value represents, click on the question mark symbol on any value card to get additional information.
We recommend that you work quickly and methodically. If you would like to change an answer after you have made your selection, you can go back by clicking on the back button on the left side of the screen. Some users find that their perspective evolves as they go through the paired comparisons the first time, so taking the test a second time can be helpful. You may take the test as often as you like.
